Herman Mahler, miner, saloon keeper, honorary mayor of Hahn's Peak, Colo. Herman Mahler and his Model T. Herman was the unoffical mayor of Hahns Peak. Mahler's father came to Hahns Peak in 1898 as a miner and Mahler stayed most of his life, he had his hand in all things Hahns Peak. Mahler worked in placers, hard rock mines, peddled gold stock in Denver, was chuck-wagon master for Jack Ellis' cattle drives, owned a grocery, a supply store and a saloon. Mahler died in 1969.
