Stagecoach in front of Onyx Hotel
1909-1918
Black and white photo of a stagecoach in front of the Onyx Hotel. Photo from album belonging to Harris Frazier, son of Floyd Frazier. Photo in album is labeled "The stage - Onyx Hotel" and has typed description which says "The first summer we were in Steamboat Springs we stayed at the Onyx Hotel which is here shown with the stagecoach standing before it. Doesn't it look for all the world like a set from one of the T.V. westerns? There were several stages leaving every morning for various destinations -- one to the railroad, another up to Hahns Peak which was an old mining camp and the former county seat, and another down the river to Hayden and Craig." Floyd Frazier was the Secretary Treasurer of the Steamboat Springs Town and Quarry Company in 1909, owned a large ranch in Pleasant Valley, and helped build the bath house, the Frazier Building, and the Cabin Hotel.
